Eden residents are invited to attend a volunteer recruitment fair this month, organised by the Eden Health and Wellbeing Hub to discover what opportunities there are to help their communities.

The Hub, which offers a one-stop-shop for health and wellbeing information, is based at Penrith Community Hospital, where the recruitment fair will take place on Monday, April 28 from 11am-1pm.

The fair will be an opportunity to find out how to become a volunteer in your community, how your skills could help local people and how volunteering can help you gain work experience and provide an opportunity to meet new people.

Hub co-ordinator, Hazel Laithwaite said: “We would like people to come along to the Hub and meet representatives from voluntary organisations in their area.

“There will be free refreshments and a volunteer market place, as well as the opportunity to find out more about the information and advice available from the Hub as well.

“The Hub is here for everyone. If you are worried about something and don’t know where to turn or wish to find out what activities and services are available in your area, we can help at the Eden Health and Wellbeing Hub.

“I am assisted at the Hub by volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved can give me a call or call into the Hub at Penrith Community Hospital.”

The Eden Health and Wellbeing Hub is one of 16 health projects across Cumbria, funded by Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as part of the £500,000 NHS Integration Bursary Funding.
